I recently submitted changes to the USA/Canada DTV scan tables at [LinuxTV], included Bay Area-specific updates. The new tables have been merged now (Thanks Mauro Carvalho)
and should help your scans take less time and waste less energy in the process :).
The updates were long due and include:
Use of latest FCC data
Remove spectrum decommissioned in 2020
Use "canonical" center frequencies (lower edge + 3MHz) instead of adding the +28.615kHz offset used in USA/Canada till the Analog Low Power TV Service (LPTV)] sunset of July 2021
Download and use the new tables if you haven't and are trying to follow DTV instructions
